    Golem-Labor Bogota

The Golem-Labor Bogota took place in the emblematic house of Mapa Teatro, an artists laboratory dedicated to transdisciplinary artistic creation, located in downtown Bogota. There, six artists with diverse backgrounds in ballet, contemporary dance and urban dance, performed with motion capture technology, researching their movement between the body and technology. These artists were selected with the support of the Dance Management of the Instituto Distrital de las Artes -Idartes-. Dancer and choreographer Carly Lave led the performers through a workshop in which they could experience themselves with all their senses in another dimension, the virtual world.

The Golem-Labor Bogota took place November 22-24 2021 at Mapa Teatro in Bogota, Columbia.

    Golem-Labor Overview

The Golem-Labor is an international series of workshops organized by the Goethe Institute that brings together contemporary dance and mixed reality technologies in Prague, Riga, Bogota and Tel Aviv.

The Golem-Labor explores interdisciplinary and transnationally the interface of art and technology, man and machine, physical and virtual reality.

Dancers worked together with XR-artists and motion capture specialists on research tasks and performance. From this research, a virtual exhibition and database of international movements was created using Mozilla Hubs.
